I am pleased to report to the House that the next generation of Australian netball stars is on the rise! I want to celebrate the Netball triumphs of Australia's next Diamonds at the wonderful Gulyangarri Public School. The junior and senior teams both started with next to no experience, but through sheer grit and determination, they have gone from novices to pros. Special congratulations goes to Gulyangarri's junior team, who were champions at the Liverpool Zone gala day at Woodward Park. Shoutout to the Senior team also who placed fifth. A standout to all watching was the sportsmanship and teamwork by the kids at Gulyangarri. Not only did they work so well together, but they formed new friendships with students from other schools. When the senior team wasn't playing you could find them cheering on their junior counterparts – what a fantastic group of role models they are! It's no surprise that despite Gulyangarri being the newest school on Liverpool's block, the teachers, support staff, parents and students all demonstrate tremendous heart. Congratulations to everyone who made the day a smashing success!
