Manasseh Mauga-Hall

15 October 2025

The many talented young people of Liverpool consistently inspire me, and tonight I am proud to acknowledge Miller Technology High School student Manasseh Mauga-Hall, who recently received the Dame Marie Bashir Peace Award. Manasseh was one of only six students across New South Wales to receive the honour, recognised for her leadership, commitment to social justice and advocacy for equality. I have had the privilege of working alongside Manasseh through the Liverpool Youth Action Group, where she continues to show maturity, initiative and compassion beyond her years. Her dedication to creating positive change in our community is truly inspiring. Although she only recently turned 18, Manasseh has served as school captain and was celebrated by the school for her academic, sporting and cultural achievements. Young leaders like Manasseh remind us that the future of Liverpool and our wider community is in capable hands. Her achievements show what can be accomplished through courage, kindness and commitment to fairness. I know that, behind the scenes, Manasseh has the pride and support of a large, loving family. I congratulate Manasseh on this remarkable and well-deserved recognition.
