I have said before that Liverpool is the home of our most promising young athletes and I rise today to congratulate yet another from my electorate, Sofia Iannello, a student at Freeman Catholic College in Bonnyrigg Heights. Sofia recently competed in the NSW State Championships, delivering an outstanding series of results that demonstrate not only her talent but also her determination and discipline. She placed first in the 100-metre Breaststroke, the 100-metre Butterfly, and the 100‑metre Individual Medley. She also claimed first place in the 200-metre Freestyle and capped off her campaign with a bronze medal in the 4 x 50-metre Medley Relay. These achievements are the result of countless hours of training, the guidance of dedicated coaches, and the support of her family and school community. They are also a testament to Sofia's sporting ability and mental fortitude. Of course, Sofia's success is an inspiration to her peers and a source of pride for Bonnyrigg Heights and the wider Liverpool community. Congratulations Sofia on these incredible achievements and I look forward to her future triumphs in the pool.
