This year the Southern Districts Soccer Football Association [SDSFA] celebrates its eightieth anniversary—a milestone that reflects the strength, passion and unity of our soccer-mad community. Since its founding in 1946, a handful of local clubs have grown into one of the largest and most vibrant football communities in Sydney's south-west. Throughout the decades, the SDSFA has been at the heart of football in south-west Sydney, giving generations of players, coaches, referees and volunteers the opportunity to come together through the world's most loved game. From grassroots juniors kicking their very first ball to seniors who continue to play for the joy of the game, the association has fostered a culture of inclusivity, teamwork and pride that extends far beyond the field. The SDSFA is more than just a sporting body; it is a place where friendships are made, skills are developed and where our young people learn the values of discipline, resilience and fair play. I congratulate president Andy Favaloro and the current board on their leadership and service. The club's proud history is matched only by its bright future, and I wish it continued success for decades to come.
